PRACTICE Final Conference | 23 September 2014 | Brussels, Belgium

The final conference of the PRACTICE Project took place on September 23rd 2014. Around 150 CBRN experts gathered at the International Auditorium, Boulevard du Roi Albert II in Brussels. Representatives of first responders, crisis management planners, experts of CBRN communities, NGO's, policy makers and technology suppliers were represented.

The final conference was introduced by John Jones, from CBRNExcellence Ltd, specialized in CBRN counter terrorism and Dzenan Sahovic, manager director of the European CBRNE Centre and project coordinator of the PRACTICE Project.

PRACTICE keys topics were then addressed during the day:

  • Presentation of the PRACTICE Toolbox as a decision support tool with a flexible and integrated system for improved CBRN crisis management and easily adaptable to various national organisations and regulations. During one hour, tools providers presented new integrated and validated PRACTICE tools.
  • Presentation of the results of the PRACTICE Exercises to integrate tools and validate the PRACTICE Toolbox in real environments
  • Debates on recommendations for improving the operational functions for the handling of large-scale disruptive events, difference between countries and procedures, cooperation between projects etc.


A mini exhibition in the lobby also enabled tool providers to present their tools in front of the panel of participants.
